Carstairs Municipal Campground

Open May 1 - October 31

The Carstairs Municipal Campground, known as "The People Friendly Place," is located on the east edge of Carstairs, at the corner of Centre Street and Highway 2A. The campground, located temptingly near the 18-hole Carstairs Golf Course, is open from May 1st to October 31st. A stay in our campground can bring you in contact with people from across Canada, Europe and the United States. The campground serves as the Town's Visitor Information Centre during the summer.

There are 28 power hookups, 15A and 30A. Washrooms are wheelchair accessible. Great fun for the family with playground and horseshoe pits. Firewood is free and fire pits are available at each site. A great spot for day use and picnics or for a weekend relaxing in the shade.

Powered Trailers & RV sites: $25 Cdn/night
Tents: $20 Cdn/night (2011 rates)
Showers: $1.00 (on timer)
Sewage Dump: $1.00

No Reservations Required. Sites available on a first come, first served basis. Contact the Town Office or call 403.337.3341 for more information.

Visitor Information Centre

The Visitor Information Centre is located at the Carstairs Campground from May to September, and at Town Office during the winter months. Information such as campground guides, holiday brochures, and scenic road trips can be found here.  

The new Tourist Information Booth was built in 2006, with widespread community support, and through the efforts of the Friends of Remembering the Carstairs Elevator (FORCE).  

Stop in and check out the many artifacts preserved from the last remaining grain elevator in Carstairs before it was dismantled.
