Mayor's Message

On behalf of Town Council, I would like to extend our warmest greetings to those of you who are visiting us through our website. We hope you like what you see, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Town Office by email or by phone at 403.337.3341.

We are very proud of our community, and are pleased to preserve our unique country atmosphere, heritage, and quality of life, while cultivating a dynamic and economic environment.

Carstairs provides a fresh alternative to the hustle and bustle of big city life, and we know you will find the quality of life here exactly what you're looking for. Our close proximity to the Calgary International Airport, with easy access on Highway 2 to the business centers of Airdrie and Calgary, also make it extremely convenient for the business commuter.

Carstairs has all the services for convenient daily life, including grocery stores, a pharmacy, restaurants, banks, beauty salons, service stations, medical and professional services. The town has plenty of open space, parks, walking trails, and safe neighborhoods.

For those of you who may be thinking of making Carstairs your home ... Welcome! For those who have already chosen our community as the best place to be, "See you at the coffee shop!"

Council Meetings

Council meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Weeks with a statutory holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled to Tuesday.

The public may attend the meetings at the main town office 844 Centre Street.  

The next Council Meeting will be on December 8, 2025 at 7:00 pm.
